Application Reader Remote
Application Reader // LaunchX Role: LaunchX is hiring part-time (15 to 20 hours per week), remote, seasonal position. Our application readers assist our executive team with the first review of applications for admission to LaunchX's Summer Program. The ideal candidate demonstrates an understanding of the company mission and values, is a reliable self-starter, and possesses a strong attention to detail. This candidate has worked with adolescents before and understands how their personal characteristics fit into the entrepreneurial mindset.
Application readers will enter into a nondisclosure agreement regarding the application process and any information on applicants. To avoid any potential conflicts of interest, the seasonal reader must not be an immediate family member of or friend to a student applying to LaunchX.
Commitment: Each application reader will read, evaluate and summarize approximately 300 applications during the admissions cycle. This entails tracking applicant responses and making decisions on their potential fit with the LaunchX Summer Program. Each seasonal reader is required to attend paid training in early December. This training will acquaint the reader with our evaluation protocols that are thoughtfully applied to every application.
The LaunchX Summer Program review process and length of appointment runs from January through April. Role:
Attend a series of trainings to learn the review rubrics and admissions process in order to assess applicants for entrepreneurial propensity and admission to the LaunchX Summer Program
Read, evaluate, and summarize approximately 300 applications during the admissions cycle, which includes reviewing components of application videos, activities, transcripts, and more
Maintain diligence about time management to ensure the applicant review process stays on track
Attend admissions committee meetings to review applicants after they have had interviews and provide additional input to assess their candidacy
Bachelors degree completed or underway, preferably in business or education
Experience understanding high-achieving youth
Interest in the education field, preferably experiential learning
Attention to detail
Strong time management skills
Ability to work autonomously doing repetitive tasks while maintaining focus
Experience working in a related process preferred
