The Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Specialist – Operations Support will be responsible for assisting physicians by pulling patient records from EMR systems. This person will be reviewing customer records and uploading those into a portal.
The successful candidate must have demonstrated a high degree of organization and detail orientation to ensure the correct demographic information is entered. This person will also act as a liaison with Case Managers to ensure cases are reviewed with specific turnaround guidelines. The Electronic Medical Records (EMR) – Operations Support will need to be detail oriented, technically savvy, and have the ability to understand medical records.
Responsibilities:
Maintain working EMR access for navigation and basic troubleshooting.
Accurate and thorough data entry meeting the productivity standards.
Consistent communication with physician teams regarding cases, case completion, and portal workflow.
Attach pertinent clinical information to portal cases and follow cases to completion within service level agreements.
Provide customer support and reach out to site managers for missing information.
Support physician needs which includes obtain additional documentation, help physicians find patients in the EMR, route cases to physicians, and troubleshoot any issues in portal.
Improved physician and team efficiency and increase customer services needs for physicians.
Metrics will include quality scores on cases, case completion within service level times, personal productivity, and R1 RCM Physician satisfaction.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience within the healthcare field
Experience with electronic medical records applications
Must have knowledge of medical terminology and reviewing medical records
Must be technical savvy working with multiple systems at one time
Experience with accessing and maintaining portals
High degree of detail orientation
Strong customer services skills
Ability to work on variety of shifts
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
