What you will be doing: In this role, you will be providing principal supportive business services to service units and staff in the Pendleton Office of the Umatilla Branch Child Welfare Program. You will perform the following duties:

  • Perform shared reception tasks such as responding to a multi-line phone system and assisting callers, clients and the general public.

  • Entering data and collecting documents and information.

  • Distributing and tracking documents and redacting confidential information if needed.

  • Opening, transferring, and closing cases for the unit.

  • Ensuring that paperwork is complete when new cases are opened or transferred.

  • Filing and scanning documents.

  • Completing funding requests and researching payment questions.

  • Preparing a desk manual.

  • Scheduling meetings.

  • Preparing and distributing mail.

  • Handling records requests.

Working conditions:

  • You may interact with a wide range of people including some who have experienced trauma, exhibit challenges in controlling their anger, or other unexpected emotions impacted by drug use, cognitive impairments, or other factors.

  • This position presents the opportunity to work remotely approximately 20% of the time.

What you need to qualify: Two years of general clerical experience, one year of which included typing, word processing, or other experience generating documents. OR An associate's degree. OR Graduation from a private school of business with a certificate AND one year of general clerical experience. Essential Attributes: You do not need to have all these attributes to be considered for this opening, however, the most competitive candidates will have most of them.
