  • Provide general support in researching and receiving remits for processing and posting.

  • Detail-oriented, strong attention to detail, initiative and problem solving skills

  • Comfortable in fast-paced environment, self-motivated and flexible

  • Able to independently set priorities and achieve goals

  • Proficient in Microsoft excel and Adobe Reader.

  • Effective communication using a variety of methods (face to face, voice mail, email, etc.)

  • Enters and modifies/corrects information in Patient Financial Systems.

  • Identifies and informs supervisor of any potential or existing hardware or software problems

  • May provide routine clerical services such as copying, maintaining records and files, etc.

  • Understanding of insurances (HMO, PPO, Medicare, etc.)

  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations

  • Maintains client confidentiality and protects operations by keeping information confidential.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma required

  • Health Management System and/or related field preferred

EXPERIENCE:

  • Two (2) years experience of data entry. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a medical office (front or back office) health information/medical record department or related experience in a medical office setting, managed care facility or hospital setting.

  • Experience in multitasking, this includes ability to understand multiple systems and multiple levels of benefits within each system.

  • Excellent human relations and oral/written communications skills required.

COMPUTER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated competence using MS tools, including MC Office products

  • Knowledge in HMS/DAR/Medhost systems preferred.
