Professional Development Assistant

Description: The Professional Development Assistant, reporting to the Senior Training and Development Manager, is an integral part of the Professional Development training team. The Professional Development Assistant will provide the Professional Development team with administrative support for the firm’s legal focused training programs and the firm’s Continuing Legal Education (CLE) functions. Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for data entry into CE Manager, the firm’s Learning Management System

  • Validate program attendance in CE Manager for training programs offering CLE credits

  • Create CLE forms for in-house and client programs

  • Collect completed attendance sheets for in person attendance programs

  • Distribute CLE Certificates of Attendance upon approval by state CLE Boards

  • Monitor incoming messages to “HK Institute” email address to respond to requests for CLE Certificates from CE Manager and general informational requests

  • Respond to inquiries for CLE Certificates from Micron CE Manager, PLI and West LegalEdcenter

  • Point of contact to provide directions for accessing external CLE subscription services

  • Assist the Professional Development team with all CLE related matters

  • Assume other responsibilities as needed to support the Professional Development team

  • Special projects and additional duties as assigned.


  • 2 - 4 years of experience in a similar or professional environment. Law firm experience a plus

  • Excellent computer skills with the ability to learn new applications and databases quickly

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point

  • Strong verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education or experience

This position may be filled in New York City, Colorado, or California. In accordance with the New York City Human Rights Law, the Colorado Equal Pay Act, and the California Pay Transparency Law, the pay range for this position in New York City is $28.70-$43.10/hr, in Colorado is $25.10-$37.70/hr, and in California is $27.70-$44.90/hr. These ranges are specific to these three locations and may not be applicable to other locations. An individual's actual compensation will depend on the individual's qualifications and experience.
